Dance into the new year at the Four Seasons’s eyrie, the rooftop bar Aer, with a little help from DJs Shaan and Dino. Entry is priced at Rs3,500 per person (excluding taxes) for the party, which starts at 8pm.

Bonobo

The DJ duo of Pradeep Maharana and Cyrus Mehta will spin popular dance tunes at Bonobo on Tuesday, December 31, from 10pm onwards. During the night there will be a special appetiser menu of chipotle honey chicken skewers; calamari tempura with wasabi aioli; chicken tikka; mini lamb pita pockets; chilli cheese toast; and potato wedges with sweet chilli aioli. There is an entry fee of Rs2,500 per person and Rs4,000 per couple (inclusive of taxes, and unlimited food and select alcohol).

Blue Frog

The restaurant and gig venue is hoping to lure the masses with their New Year’s Eve party, which starts at 9pm and features music by DJs Leon Russel and Monty, who will spin hip hop and house sets. There is an entry fee of Rs4,000 per person, and Rs7,000 per couple. A table/pod reservation is priced at Rs5,000 per person (there has to be a minimum of five people on a table). The rates include taxes and get you unlimited food and select alcohol.

Bungalow 9

At this scenic Bandra bungalow, you can opt to sit in the outdoor section, indoors, at the bar or one of the private party rooms. Their entry charge of Rs6,000 per person and Rs8,000 per couple includes taxes, and grants you access to unlimited premium imported alcohol, appetisers and a buffet. The party kicks off at 9pm.

Cheval and Liv

DJ Manav and Hitesh, who perform using only their first names, will play a mix of genres from Bollywood and retro to hip hop and house at restaurant and bar Cheval and nightclub Liv, which will become a single entity for their joint Big Room Party on New Year’s Eve. The entry fee of Rs6,000 per couple and Rs3,000 per person gets you unlimited helpings of starters and select alcohol as well as a buffet. Prices include taxes. The best part? The revelry will go on from 10pm until 5am.

Club Alibii

The Colaba club will ring in the new year with a Heaven and Hell themed party, where the venue will be split into two zones according to their theme and feature belly dancers and Bollywood dancers. In Zone 1 aka Heaven, the music will be Bollywood, courtesy of DJ Vinod. In Zone 2 aka Hell, the music will be EDM, courtesy of DJ Bipin. The entry fee – Rs1,500 for single women, Rs4,000 for single men and Rs5,500 for couples – includes taxes, and entitles you to unlimited starters and premium alcohol. The relatively new Juhu bar will have a ‘Spanish fiesta’ theme for its NYE celebrations, which will start at 8pm, feature a soundtrack of EDM and offer a special menu of tapas, pintxos and sangria. There is a cover charge of Rs4,000 for couples, Rs2,000 for single men (stags will only be allowed to enter in a mixed group) and Rs1,500 for single women. Prices include taxes.

Firangi Paani

DJ Ankur will spin EDM and Bollywood hits at this British pub-style bar in Andheri from 8pm onwards. Before you hit the dance floor, help yourself to a multi-cuisine buffet with Indian, Chinese, Mexican and Italian items. The cover charge, which gets you unlimited food and select alcohol, is priced at Rs5,000 per couple and Rs3,500 for stags (including taxes). Two women can pay the couple charge but single men, alas, will have to pay the stag rate.

DJ-singer-producer Miss Palmer, best known perhaps as the featured vocalist on Afrojack and Steve Aoki’s 2011 club hit “No Beef”‘, will soundtrack the New Year’s Eve celebrations at the F Lounge.Diner.Bar, which will begin at 8pm. The entry fee is Rs7,000 per couple, but can go up to Rs10,000 per couple during the later hours of the night. Entry for single men is priced at Rs4,000 and entry for single women is priced at Rs1,500 through the event. The fee, which includes taxes, gets you unlimited appetisers and select alcohol.

Hard Rock Cafe

Both outposts of the popular gig venue will have DJs – Roane at Worli and Willis at Andheri – spinning house, hip hop, rock and retro pop tunes, with unlimited food and drinks on offer. Regular entry, priced at Rs3,000 per person and Rs5,000 for couples, includes starters and drinks made with domestic alcohol, while VIP entry, priced at Rs5,000 per person and Rs8,000 for couples, includes starters and drinks made with premium alcohol. All prices include taxes.

Juhu Hangar

Dance to a triple treat of DJs at Around the Globe, an EDM NYE party organised by Vh1 in Juhu. The party, which starts at 10pm, will feature sets by Ukrainian trance DJ Omnia (the No.48 DJ in the world, according to DJ Mag), Slovenian electro house DJ Beltek and Goa-based progressive house DJ Anish Sood. Tickets priced at Rs2,500 (regular) and Rs4,000 (VIP) per person get you unlimited food and select alcohol and are available from Bookmyshow.com.

J. W. Marriott

If you believe that there’s nothing to beat Bollywood music when it comes to dancing, then consider the J. W. Marriott, where from 8pm onwards, four of its properties will be converted into a party zone, made up of coffee shop Lotus Cafe (where you can fill up on a multi-cuisine buffet and hear Hindi film hits being performed by the band SQS Project), nightclub Enigma (where DJ Pranav will spin popular movie remixes), South-East Asian restaurant Spices (which will offer a Thai and Japanese buffet) and the poolside Salt Water (which will serve an Indian buffet). The entry fee of Rs7,500 (including taxes) per person gets you access to all four areas. Alternatively, fans of EDM can shimmy to a house music set by DJ Karma, from 8pm, at Spanish restaurant Arola, where the entry fee of Rs7,500 (including taxes) gets you unlimited helpings of food and premium alcohol. In case you have children, you’ll be pleased to know the hotel will have a kids’ zone (for those aged between 3 and 12 years) at the Family Lounge, with dinner, entertainment, toys, and nannies to look after the young ones. The bar and restaurant has planned a night of surprises for guests via raffle draws, and spot prizes for the best dressed man and woman, and best dancing couple. The party, which starts at 9pm, is priced at Rs3,500 per person and Rs5,000 for couples (inclusive of taxes, unlimited appetisers, and select alcohol).

Pali Bhavan

At this popular Bandra venue, you can party into the new year with popular Dutch progressive house DJs 16 Bit Lolitas from 10.30pm onwards. They’ll be followed by deep house DJ-producers Nik & Raj. Palladium Hotel

Get high both literally and figuratively at the Palladium Hotel’s Penthouse Party, which will be held, from 9pm, at the two bars on its 37th floor, Li Bai Bar and Exo both of which offer panoramic views of the city. Polly Esther’s

The Colaba nightclub will host a New Year’s Eve bash where the music will span hip hop, retro rock and Bollywood. There is a cover charge of Rs4,000 per couple (though it might go up to Rs5,000 closer to NYE), of Rs3,000 for single men (though stags will only be allowed to enter with a couple) and of Rs3,000 for single women, for the party, which starts at 9pm. The prices include taxes.

Shiro

For their Grand Masquerade New Year Ball, the Worli lounge will convert their venue into a Venetian palace, with masks on offer, as well as unlimited food and select alcohol, and popular EDM tunes by DJ Henry. Smaaash

The sports and gaming centre is hosting a family-friendly New Year’s eve bash, from 8pm, where only couples and families will be allowed entry. For Rs2,500 per person, you get access to a buffet dinner, unlimited Indian alcohol and a gaming card, which includes one round of arcade games, and access to the 9D theatre and football game Robokeeper. You can also pay Rs999 for the dinner only. All prices are excluding taxes.

The Lalit

Fans of The Da Vinci Code might want to attend the Lalit’s NYE bash, at the hotel’s ballroom floor, where guests should come dressed in red and white in keeping with the party’s theme, Angels and Demons. The music will be “Hollywood and Bollywood”, the buffet will be multi-cuisine and the (select) alcohol unlimited. Tickets are priced at Rs4,999 per person and Rs9,999 per couple (prices include taxes) for the event, which starts at 9pm.

The Little Door
