There’s happy news for those who’ve made a second home out of the quaint Pali Village Cafe. Its owners Suren Joshi and Mishali Sanghani will open their second venture, Pali Bhavan, this Monday, December 10, at 7pm, just a few metres down the road from their popular restaurant. In a departure from their first venture, which serves a smattering of Mediterranean favourites in a Mumbai-meets-Marais setting, Pali Bhavan will, as the name implies, dish up Indian food from across the country. Sanghani says the idea was to restrict the menu to home food favourites as opposed to heavy North Indian fare, and will thus include everything from pani puri and baigan bharta to karela and squid masala. “All of us enjoy desi food, and we found few places offer an experience that is not heavy and full of masala,” says Sanghani. The 2,000 square feet split-level Pali Bhavan has a bar area on the ground level and dining area upstairs. Prices will range from Rs185 to Rs800 per dish.
